The only way to tell whether a message brings you closer to or further away from truth, is if it makes your heart feel warmer. It doesn't matter if many people, or many generations of people have been following it, or not; It doesn't matter if the source of the message is a world renowned/ancient spiritual teacher or recognized authority, or not; It doesn't matter if the message seems to be based on undebatable "facts", or an utterly convincing thought of your own, or not. It doesn't even matter if you believe it, or not. The only way to tell whether a message brings you closer to truth or not, is if it makes your heart feel warmer.
