Any other INFPs in this boat?

Question

I cannot tell you how many times I have been called “Cute” because of the way I act. Like I never get compliments like oh you look nice today, or your pretty. Never the type of compliments that boost a girls self esteem. Just your adorable, or your so cute. And it’s not that I want people to compliment me, it makes me uncomfortable when they do, but I’m just so sick of being called cute that I wish people would say something else.

If being that can make me have a lover that's great but, I only have friends 😩

I get it 100%. I think the issue at hand is in the context of "cute".. it's a term that i find is often devoid of respect; i get called cute and sweet, and while those things are nice, it does feel like a slight punch in the gut. "Cute" sorta carries the implication that you're small and powerless. You don't often see someone call a Great Dane cute, but they'll definitely say it about a Shih Tzu.. "cute" is what kids want to be. It's definitely an INFP perception though.. Given our manners and positive attitude, we know we're nice and positive and affiliative but want to be seen as something respectable. "Cute" is near meaningless to me, but if someone called me sexy I'd be on a cloud for the next month.

Ok just spoke about this the other day, and I mean adorable to be as powerful as stunning or gorgeous.  Maybe moreso because everyone is going for sexy.

I know that it can be frustrating, especially when it has a different connotation for you.  There may be nothing that changes it for you, but it may mean more to the person saying it to you.
