Gold or brass?

A question to ISFP males, if you had something precious to you, very symbolic, which you keep hidden, would you prefer it golden (precious) or brass (durable)? Why? I'm writing a story with a 25 yo ISFP, who's a fantasy version of a hidden christian in Japan, but also a samurai. Just like the historical original ppl (he's not actually christian, just a fantasy version of sth similar) he keeps the symbol of his faith in tsuba (handguard). I say steal golds to weak brass is also weak I have steal skull neckless with a sliver coat over it it cant rust and it cant break u less you really try its way stronger and has more durability and it looks clean with a little shine to it if its used to hold up a house its good to hold up it you throw it or it falls and you walk on it
