Duolingo is accurate enough to get you to a level needed to start reading (books etc.) written by native speakers. It might not suit people who prefer more traditionaly structured (school) language learning. And it is also full of small mistakes mostly concerning idioms, though they are being rectified as time goes on.

i've learned a lot of Japanese, and yes it's pretty challenging...but ARABIC is even MORE challenging in my opinion. and don't get me started on Mandarin-
