@Alexis Yeah, where to start will depend on how you want to use the language. The hardest aspect I’ve found with Japanese is the grammar structure. The way sentences are phrased is kinda hard for my brain to wraparound 😅But textbookslike the Genkiseries are designed for classroom settings and might help introduce the language better. For my own self-study, I tend to lean more to freeonline sources thatbreakit down in different ways.
For the writing system, it’s best to start with hiragana/katakana first before jumping into kanji. Knowing hiragana will help especially with looking up kanji words in the wild

Well I’ve been on and off learning 😅I had a fair amount of success using Wanikani some years ago for kanji and vocabulary but fell off the practice, so I’ve forgotten a fair bit ha. Are there any particular strategies you’re using?

I'm so green. I don't know where to start honestly. Kml I had downloaded Ping and Papago. My commitment is learning 2-5 Kanji symbols a week and 1hr of learning common phrases and numbers.

So awesome. I can say the same for myself. I got great tips so far by using Kanji flash cards and research Coto Academy.
