It’s been one of those days where the sun doesn’t set so much as it slinks off, leaving behind a half-hearted twilight like it’s ashamed of itself. I’m dragging my feet home, each step feeling like it’s moving through molasses. My mind’s spinning like an old record, scratched and skipping on the same damn thoughts. Torn doesn’t quite cover it. I’m ripped, frayed, and patched over with duct tape that ain’t sticking so well anymore. Some folks talk about the beauty of silence. You know, the kind INTJs supposedly bask in—the quiet of the mind, where everything’s neat and orderly, and the chaos gets locked up in a drawer labeled deal with later. I wish. My mind’s like a busted pinball machine, with thoughts bouncing off the walls, lighting up everything but the right answers. I can’t shut it off, no matter how hard I try. Meditation? Tried it. Felt like waiting for paint to dry on a rainy day. So, I do what I always do. Bottle it up. Screw the cap on tight, shove it somewhere dark, and hope it doesn’t explode. Maybe it’s cowardice, or maybe it’s a calculated risk. Let nature run its course, see what happens when the dust settles. Cause sometimes, the only way to know if a bridge is worth crossing is to let it burn and see what’s on the other side. Writing helps, though. Words can be slippery little things, but they’ve got a way of lassoing the chaos and making sense of it, even if only for a moment. I scribble down my thoughts, raw and unfiltered, like a saloon brawl spilling out into the street. Sometimes it’s messy, but it’s real. And maybe that’s the best I can ask for. It’s not peace, but it’s something. A little corner of the storm where I can catch my breath, even if just for a moment, before stepping back into the chaos.
