What works for one does not work for all😮

I am starting to learn something truly surprising: what works for one person may not work for everyone. Let's consider this in the context of sobriety. I went cold turkey—no help, no AA meetings, and no support. While some people may need counseling and treatment, others need to understand the underlying reasons for their actions. Additionally, some individuals have specific reasons for their struggles. All treatments are different, yet we are all in this together. You should find what works for you; it helped me. Another prime example is mental health. Some people improve with prescription medications from a psychologist, while others prefer to self-medicate with marijuana. Some individuals repeatedly revisit their trauma and issues until they can process them, while others choose to numb their feelings or accept their struggles as normal behavior, claiming they are working on their mental health. Ultimately, nothing works the same for everyone, no matter how much we wish it were so.

How to respect yourself?

Set boundaries. If they can't admit that their actions have caused harm to someone they claim to care about, stop looking out for them. You don't get to decide that you didn't hurt me. (edited)
