The truth is, you do from a place of science and critical thinking. I’ve been political my entire life, but once I studied the social sciences, particular political science, and read Dr. Karl Popper everything clicked. It’s that people aren’t taugh science and critical thinking during the formative years like I was. We wait until middle school and by then it’s too late. People aren’t talking politics or religion, people are talking gossip and hearsay, thinking that opinions matter and triumph over science. I was VERY lucky, because schools are not centers for learning. I’m telling you this as a professional researcher. If you look at the ancient centers of knowledge like the “house of wisdom” in 8th century Baghdad it’s a very different picture. It’s too much to get into, but schools were invented by Prussians in the 1800’s as an arm of the state to spread the myth of the nation and national identity. Do you notice how you learn about people, but you never actually read their actual works? You have to read Dr. Poppers works, especially “the open society and its enemies”. It’s long and a tough read, but it will change you. That’s what knowledge is… it makes you question everything you know!

You have a respectful conversation by respecting the other person. 😁 I promise it's simple.
