7.8M SOULS
Communication, and the willingness to adapt and respect each others boundaries, and simply accepting that sometimes there is no right or wrong. Plus also enjoying the moment and using experience to grow.
Communication, being able to speak freely, that your words hold the same weight as theirs.
Communication and the desire to always reach agreements where both feel heard and respected. Complicity is important in a couple from my point of view.
Communications
That's a very good question. It's about two people meeting, even if they're far apart. If they're destined to meet and live together, respecting each other, trusting each other, caring for each other, and having similar opinions, that's what truly matters throughout their lives.People want what they call family happiness.
Commitment, communication, respect...
Very nice if one could find something like that again nowadays, unfortunately, it is a rarity.
Communication, adapting to changes as human beings, understanding that each age is a different stage and learning to love at each stage with its challenges and difficulties.
Communication, intimacy ( some people would be surprise with how much intamcy play a part in relationships failing) , respect, honesty , hobbies with / without spouse ( every so often a brief time apart can be good depending on the people in the relationship as long as it does not impact the relation), keeping relationship exciting and fun from both / everyone in the relationship and situational awareness
Common interest, empathy, sharing, the little attentions.
Spontaneity
A common goal, taking care of each other and spending quality time together
The daily choice to be with that person and have a lot of intimacy. And when I talk about intimacy, I'm not talking about being naked in front of each other. I'm talking about having the freedom to speak openly about any topic without the other seeing it as an accusation, judgment, or things like that.
After the initial sparks settle, the glue of a relationship becomes safe harbor combined with shared play. Emotional safety means knowing you can bring your messiest, most vulnerable self to the table without fear of judgment or rejection. But safety alone can feel like roommates. To keep the romantic spark alive, you have to inject deliberate playfulness—novelty, shared adventures, laughter, and flirting. It’s the ability to step out of daily domestic routines and remember how to have fun together.
Respect and the desire to make plans
Love game
A joint murder🤣
Communication…
Faith, hope, love.
Everyone thought that communication is important but the truth is, comprehension does. Everyone can communicate, but not everyone can understand what were you talking about. So, communication is nothing without comprehension to make your relationship work.
Honesty (that neither of them closes the communication channels with destructive criticism or other toxicities), that communication is maintained and the ability to ask for what is wanted by both parties without fear of being judged, and that there is constant discussion about the goals and whether they have changed, but always providing realistic guidelines on how those goals are intended to be achieved, because otherwise they will seem either empty dreams or a waste of time.
Surprise each other daily with little things / treats to show that you are present in each other's lives. Once a week, break the routine with a romantic dinner. Every 3 months, escape the city for a weekend getaway and dedicate time to each other.
genuine interest, plans or even simple outings, and most importantly, COMMUNICATION.
Summary
By far the most common answer was open, honest communication, with many adding that listening and genuinely understanding each other matters as much as talking. Close behind came the idea that love is a daily decision: consistent effort, commitment and choosing your partner again and again, even on hard days. Many also urged couples to never stop dating, with surprises, spontaneity and new experiences, while others pointed to respect, trust and loyalty, shared interests and quality time, staying curious as you both change, and the small everyday gestures of affection and intimacy. A lighter handful credited humor, friendship and playfulness, and a few joked that the honeymoon phase never has to end at all.
