Lately I've felt kinda sad, I never feel like I'm good enough for a relationship, weather it be I ruin it somehow by saying something stupid or maybe I'm just ugly, are curvy women disliked nowadays? I feel like as I get older, it gets harder to find someone. I'm only 32 but I was told I looked to be in my early 20s. Been trying for over 12 years now, I do feel like I've made progress in my life, minus the dating part. I'm in no rush anymore, I've also come to understand sex isn't everything as I once thought it was. I thought it was how one could make a good connection, but I was wrong. What are your thoughts? No dating is hard. It shouldn't be but it shouldn't be too easy also. I feel like there should be a balance between those 2 concepts. Sometimes you'll argue and be triggered, but in the end it should be teamwork and compromise, and a resolution. I've come in recent months to hate the phrase "finding the right one" cause to me that implies the perfect person is going to just show up and you'll never have any issues and live in a relationship of rainbows and glitter. I want something where my partner sees my faults and issues, acknowledges, accepts, and are willing to help me be better, and do better.

I think it's more like having high expectations for someone than how you looks or what you do. I'm sure you have your reasons and that's why it's filtering people out but are you balancing priorities in your filters? Maybe you are pushing away some potentially good relationship by not accepting some traits or demanding some specific condition. For example, in your profile it says you are not leaving Maine and the guy should be willing to move there. I'm sure you have your reasons. I have no idea what have in Maine but as a man and expected to be the household provider(yeah, cliche but it's in men mind), my first thought is "how?". I'm not saying you are wrong.
