---I mean, ifwego back far enough women definitely used to.. at least the "roll out of bed and be married" part, (and I think some cultures still arrange marriages 🤔)---

@Monicaall of the older couples I know in my life went thru terrible abuse that women won't (don't have to) stand for today, yet people idealize 40+ weddinganniversaries without considering the abuse, hatred, and even loneliness that was endured to make it that far.
Then people in the current datingscene want to complain about how love "doesn't last" now, and how [insert generation] doesn't [value] 🙄

Cuz people get bored and look for the next best thing. No one wants to fight for love. I have.. and it was too far gone. Then I fell in love again. Got my heartbroken again.
So I'm super cautious now. And am halfthinking I'm likely destined to not be loved back.
But also men were taught not to have feelings. So they're having to undo mindsets and walls they put up from loving and being burned in the past.

I think it's "hard" because a lot are coming off asdesperate tbh. People don't want to take their time. They want the instant gratification of saying they are taken. It requires work, time, money (, whether people want to admit it or not), and stability to make it last. I also think a lot of our generation just wants to heal from past trauma and learn from what the prior generations didn't teachus. Our grandparents didn't have it easy. They didn't have a choice.
I don't think prior generations knew what true love was either. Arguably only a few generations weren't forced into marriage. Forced and arranged marriages are not true love. In those marriages of the past, they were allowed to beat the women, sell them, grape them, etc. I think people romanticize the aesthetic of the past without seeing the reality of it. This generation is veey lucky but we are very new to understanding love because in reality or great grandparents and maybe even our grandparents didn't have a healthy marriage.

Be emotionally, and most probably physically, abused by, most likely, an alcoholic for the first 20-30 years until he's run out of energy... Then talk about how great it's been to be married for 50 years. 🫣👀
