Personally, I think it's the villain who ends the scene/movie smiling. Something has to be broken inside of you if you have the ability to smile after witnessing, what I assume, are horrible events. Even more so if they're events caused by you. A villain who starts the scene smiling could just be riding an adrenaline high in nervous anticipation.
