Listen. I have more things in life to do than giving 100% effort to ONE of my relationships. And I would hope my partner is in the same space.

How did we get here in this culture, that we have expectations for our 'romantic' relationships that exceed any possible reality.
Isn't it that in the beginning, two strangers meet and then they build something together? And what that looks or feels like is something both find out together in time?

If I can meet a man at eye level (or any human for that matter), anything is possible. But both have to be on the same page... And that's the tricky one...

But I get where you are coming from LV, I know what you mean.
I think in order to be able to understand what it is we truly want and need from others, we need space and time. 
An then, we need to figure out how to communicate our needs to each individual. We all have our own ways... Once we both know what's up, we need to find ways to combine our interests. 
No one taught us this, tho. That's why so many couples go to therapy (or one of the reasons).
Since I was a kid, I saw the stereotype flow around that men and women are so different (which is true), but that it is so hard for men to understand women. I think it goes both ways. And I think since us women like to be shown how precious we are😌, it's a lot of pressure on men... But that is all make believe.

We are  different. But not fundamentally.
So now we just have to learn again, how to make it work.
But I have no idea how to do that. I literally just know this stuff😂😐

Hard pill to swallow: they texted back? Normal. They planned a date? Normal. They showed up? Normal. None of these are even really effort. They are not above and beyond. But to me, even low effort seems like such big effort.
