the concept of "overreacting" is stupid.

everyone is different. everyone reacts to things differently, and everyone has their own experiences and stories. some people can handle tattoos, some cant. some people like eating spicy food, some people hate it. one person might break a bone and cry, and another person might just be like "damn, this hurts". just because someone cant handle something as well as you, or they dont have the same reactions as u, does not mean theyre overreacting. lets say that someones grandma gave them a bracelet that meant the world to them and they lost it. are they overreacting just because you personally wouldnt be upset if you lost the same bracelet which holds no value to you? dont ever, ever, ever let someone tell u that ur overreacting. just because something doesnt bother them, doesnt mean it cant bother you. everyone is different, no exceptions. everyones feelings are valid <3

i also forgot to mention, on the other side of things. start to think about how people feel. instead of judging or assuming, try your best to understand why that person feels the way they do instead of invalidating how they feel. you may be helping someone alot.
