Head wont let go...
How does one fully let go of someone who did nothing but lie, cheat, and cause pain multiple times after they had repeated countless times that they love you or care about you. Is that what that really is? My heart wants to let go but my head continues to play the memories good n bad over n over. How do you make jt stop.

This one is tough, for me there is an instant off switch, you cheat the switch is flipped and broken in the off position. I have had a few friends who tried forgiveness. I have never seen it work, what seems to be the main issue is the broken trust. If the person isn't where they are supposed to be the mind flies back to the cheating. The best advice I can give here is to do whatever you can to create some distance. Taking them back may relieve some of the pain short-term, but will cause you way more in the long run. Time heals all wounds, it will get easier as each day passes.

Ana dear, I feel you. Ruminations are very real. I vouch for the fellow Boo-mates for sharing their advice and wisdom. I hope you are able to heed them and start claiming your life again. First off, I hope you have removed yourself from the "partnership" completely so you will not yo-yo back to the same unhealthy patterns. If you have, know that am proud of you cause deep down you know you deserve better. This is what I did, in such order. (Ofcourse, at each own's desired pace and action) 1. Declutter - I threw away every physical item including virtual photos and videos that reminded of "us". I reorganized my living arrangements as how I would like to envision a new way of settling in for the day. It's a brand new way of life now. 2. Nature - Breathe and meditate. Allow yourself to be in the present moment, listen to the sound of nature and rediscover what peace should feel like. Take walks, hikes or looking out at the ocean's sunset. 3. Journal - Write down new goals you want for yourself. Or prepare a vision board. Dare to dream big and envision what your future self would look like. Ruminations happens when we are not cognitively induced by any intellectual activity. 4. Inner child healing - Place a photo of your young self at the mirror. Every morning when you get to work, tell her how you feel and how you will protect her. Self-love affirmations is effective as it retrains your brain into focus. Be gentle with this step, I eye-balled with uncontrollable tears when I did this. My adult self have to learn how to forgive myself and love her young self ruthlessly. 5. New memories - Break that mental barrier and be brave to step into a new light where you create new memories. Hang out with friends, reach out for professional help if needed, volunteer, social apps. Be open and receptive to try new things, even if you never thought you would enjoy before. Believe that you'll be able to meet the right people at the right place at the right time. Learn how to Let Go and Trust the Process. This can't be said enough. I send you Unconditional love and Light your way 💖
