Requiem for a dream.

If every waking moment is directed towards a screen, who do you get to be in such a process. If all your visions of fulfillment lie at the edge of some level of fame, influence, or fortune then what does life become. Then why is it my neighbors seem like such strangers, my family doesn't know what keeps me awake at night or what lights my fire in the morning, my partner is there but I'm not sure we're even on the same team, the news says something about a back to school drive, another talks about Trump renaming bodies of water to distract from failed, imploded campaign promises. I've worked 24 hours in two days. Can't sleep so I'm wide awake. Too tired to panic, everyone else is asleep, and by grand design I'm left alone with my screens. (edited)
