Rate the Film: 1993’s Batman Mask of the Phantasm
Where would you rate Batman Mask of the Phantasm? Feel free to express your thoughts and opinions in the comments. For me: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. The first every DC animated film and the first DC animated film to hit theaters. Sadly due to marketing and not being a Disney film this fell under the radar but soon gain a big following in home video. This is often said to be the most definitive and faithful adaptation of the Batman character and I agree. As much as many prefer to see Michael Keaton and/or Christian Bales Batman, Mask of the Phantasm has the late, great, and best Batman voice Kevin Conroy along with Mark Hamill as the Joker. While it’s based on the Batman The Animated Series for kids, there is enough for adults as well including shootouts signs of blood and even some deaths. Animation is spectacular, mystery is good, voice acting and performances superb and even the music is phenomenal using a choir for its gothic atmosphere. I also love the idea of exploring a time where Bruce Wayne was actually happy with Andrea and happy enough that he even begs his dead parent for forgiveness and a sign that it’s ok to be happy and not follow the plan. You sympathize with Bruce’s struggle between happiness and vengeance and it’s very interesting to see. Highly recommend this film especially if your a Batman fan.
