Wow, Hannah. This was a breathtaking point of view. It’s like that one John Lennon song, “Imagine”. Love is the backbone of genuine human empathy. People only understand love in the romantic sense within this world. They don’t see it as the bridge that you mentioned. Prejudice and hate have blinded the people within this world. They don’t see themselves in the eyes of someone living in another part of the globe. I’ll be honest in admitting that it’s easy to label a world view like this as “idyllic” or “delusional” but that’s only because those who have never opened their hearts to real love are ignorant. They’re scared to love this world because that means they care. To show that you care is the one thing that has stopped humanity from thriving. We should care about the pain of others. We should be able to look into their eyes and recognize the tears that fall from them and hug them all the same. It’s does start with ourselves though, Hannah.
