I could spend all day in a museum, but it also does depend on the subject matter. I can do history museums for much longer than an art museum.

1mo

Depends on the size of the museum, but I'd say 4-6 hrs

1mo

Eternally.

1mo

Hours, I always take shorter than I want to, because the people I go with don’t like reading all the displays. I could spend an entire day at a museum and not get bored one time.

1mo

Around 2 to 3 hours. Especially if it's a museum you regularly visit.

1mo

About 2 hours. Beyond that, I feel like my brain starts to look at the works without really seeing them. I prefer to leave with a few pieces that truly impacted me rather than having seen everything without retaining anything. For me, a good visit is less about duration and more about the ability to stay curious. (edited)

At least 6 hours. Obviously, you won't remember all the info, but you'll enjoy the whole time.

1mo

This must be a trick question, the answer is never! and there isn’t any other answer.

1mo

For me, it's not about time, but about the experience. I prefer to immerse myself in a few selected exhibitions for 1-2 hours, rather than rushing through everything. ❤️

1mo

How many hours are in a day again?

1mo

6-8 hours. More if I have access to conservation departments or objects in storage.

1mo

4-6 hours

1mo

Depends on the size and content of the museum

1mo

I think that if it's a museum you'd be wishing to visit for a long time there's no stoppage time.

1mo

Depends on the museum but minimum of three hours

1mo

I could spend an entire day 🤣

1mo

when I already saw and did everything the museum had available well, time is relative :d

1mo

Until they take me out

1mo

Depends on the museum lol

1mo

Depends on the museum, could spend all day in a science museum

1mo

If it's a museum that interests you, the brain never gives up and you just can't get enough.

1mo

In one or two hours

My brain is insatiable when it comes to knowledge and things that are real and nature and art so my brain never taps out however I do like to feed it a constant bit of new stuff as well as history and science and all that

1mo

2 hours, maybe 3 with a break to have a little coffee

1mo

I love museums, I would stay there all day if I could.

1mo

Not sure there is a limit. I LOVE wondering around for hours.

1mo

Every now and then, people should free themselves a bit from wanting to measure, condition, dose, classify, label, and contain everything; perfection is an abstract concept and can also be found in the imperfect. Visiting a museum or an important historical/cultural place can be so sublime, unique, and even sacred for many, so I will stay as long as my senses and soul need it, as long as the security guard doesn't kick me out for the hours, everything will be fine. 🧐😂

1mo

You can get tired in an hour.

1mo

All depends on when you get tired

1mo

This is always a good program. It won't happen anytime soon.

1mo

Three hours is the perfect time for actively absorbing information and experiences.

1mo

As long as I don’t get hungry, I could certainly stay for a while. 4-6 hours is tap out range.

1mo

Depends the museum:)

1mo

2 hours

1mo

Depends on the museum and its size. For big ones, ideally the better part of the day.

1mo

Honestly no more than 3, but most realistically 2 hours. Unless it's an art museum, then I can last closer to 5.

1mo

It depends on the type of museum and how long my concentration lasts before my ADHD kicks in 😂

Summary

Museum lovers dominated this one: the largest groups either said their brain never taps out at all or that they would happily stay all day, all weekend, or until staff kick them out. A big cluster gave a more modest window, with around 1-2 hours being the most common hard limit and 2-3 or 3-4 hours also popular, while a handful settled on 4-6 hours as their realistic ceiling. Many others refused a fixed number, saying it depends entirely on the museum's size and subject, with science and history venues outlasting art galleries. A few admitted the real timer is biological, tapping out the moment hunger or fatigue arrives.
