Favorite unsolved mystery??

Mine is prolly this local legend about a kid who went missing in my hometown. Apparently the hotel where it happened is said to be haunted but I'm not sure if that's true. They say he went into one of the hotel closets and his family never found him. The hotel has shutdown now though and is really old.

At India, there are secret chambers below the Taj Mahal that are not supposed to be open, never. Why?

You know that angled S thing everyone drew in school... Well what does it mean? Why has it persisted for generations? Why was it included in the notoriously cryptic painting "The Ambassadors" by Hans Holbein back in 1533? Its meaning must be known.
