Paleoart #48 Shastasaurus
During the Late Triassic, Shastasaurs were some of the largest marine reptiles, and were some of the largest Icthysaurs. Comparatively primitive against the later Plesiosaurids and Mosasaurs, Ichthysaurs still dominated the oceans for several Millions of years. This piece by Gabriel Ugueto feautures a trio of the giant European Shastasaurids in similar presentation to modern whales. Tailed by a crowd of small Triassic pterosaurs.
