Every now and again I go to match, just seeing who is nearby, try finding people to talk to. If you see someone clearly out of your league do you still try to start a conversation or why waste their time?

I did hear a statistic once a comparison of men and women who swipe right even if they don’t meet match criteria specified in bio. Men were way more likely to swipe if they didn’t meet the criteria, but I’m not sure if it accounted for the men who swipe right on everyone.

I get like 1-5 bios a month on this app. So pretty slim pickings if I’m looking for locals. I will swipe right on anyone I really like. If a woman says what she wants and I don’t meet her criteria I won’t waste her time, I do however, sometimes, make that judgement for her. Sometimes I look at the pics and even if I find her attractive and interesting, there may be something she said or something about her photos that are a red flag. Mine or hers, am incompatibility, you know. Like if every one of her pictures is her outdoors thriving in the sunlight, I may swipe left on principle. M not an ‘outdoors in the sun’ kind of guy, so I think she would not like me. Or if she says she ‘gets bored easily’ or ‘don’t be boring’ I feel like she is shallow and expects others to please her or she will use her ‘boredom’ to excuse toxic behavior. Or she might be the type to stir things up just to keep her life exciting. To the point though when I see a woman that I truly think is out of my league, I have made this judgement about her: She is very accomplished, makes or has her own money, is philanthropic, and ambitious, and is likely attractive too. I will assume I would not meet her standards. The ones she is holding herself to. So I don’t bother. ⬅️ I don’t see women like that on dating apps too often. There is the long and short of it.
