How I look at it is angels existed long before humans did. Lucifer wanted to be God. God kicked him out and banished him to earth along with other angels which become demons. Earth is the proving grounds to see if we are worthy of becoming angels. We failed the first test with Adam and eve. This dissapointed God but part of his tests for us. Lucifer is our temptation and God allows him to work to see who we choose to follow or if we choose to just ignore it all and live a short life span. Lucifer believes he can build an army out of us for his vengeance. We are flawed by our human nature and through sin. Jesus came and died for us. So maybe now it's not so we become angels but if we honor and love God we are granted safe haven and eternal life in heaven.A kingdom built for us who choose to worship and be thankful for what we are given. There is no need for jealousy, envy, deception and violence. We learned how awful those things are with our time on earth so we fully understand what god provides us is more then enough we ever desire. A sanctuary for good souls. Some may pass the test and become angels(a high honor to recieve) the majority of us just gain a beautiful forever home. Free from the pain, misery and temptations we have on earth. Hell could be as simple as just living forever with all the awful things we deal with on earth. Earth is a battleground and we get small tastes of heaven and hell in it.

I'm not a Bible scholar nor think I know anything at all. Definitely take this with a grain of salt as it's open thinking to theories.

Just another angle to consider and it's just thoughts and opinions sparked from the curiosity of the fact we really don't know for sure. Faith, hope, belief and the free will to decide whatever we wish to believe.

It's funny because jealousy and envy ECT are part of free will. So this means God made some angles with free will and decided he didn't like it and threw them in the trash.
