What is your most heartbreaking pet tale?
I have two dogs. One Siberian Husky who I got when she was 9 months, and her daughter who I raised from the time she was born. She was about 6 months old in August of 2022 when she began having issues. She stopped eating and drinking. When the diarrhea began, I took her to the pet hospital. When the nurse told me she had Parvo, I broke down in tears. I had read the Parvo survival rate was in the single digit percentile without proper treatment and I didn't have any money. I had to buy pedialyte and an oral syringe to force feed her to keep her hydrated. Eventually she began to eat and drink again. My joy was massive when I realized she was out of the woods. Then, in April of this year, that same dog got out when I wasn't home. She disappeared for two and a half weeks. I was an emotional wreck. Every night that I left the shelter without her was spent in tears. I spent hours setting up bait stations to get her back. Two and a half weeks later she shows up barking in my drive way at 5AM as if she had never been gone. Her mother beat her up for that. They had the biggest fight I'd ever seen but then they went back to normal.

My last cat died of something with his liver, his skin had turned all yellow and such. Went to the vet a few days before since I noticed his behavior was weird and he literally passed out not breathing. The vet only told me he was dehydrated, injected some water into him and sent us home again. This continued for 3 days with me carrying my cat back and forth to the vet spending 100$ each time just for them to give him some water and not finding out what was wrong. Last day I ended up giving my cat CPR while i cried my eyes out and i took him to another vet instead that immediately found out the problem telling me that we should have gotten there sooner, so I told him we had already been to the vet another place a couple times the past week and that they only told me he was dehydrated and the new vet literally face palmed so hard I could hear his frustration over vets not being up to date and knowing better..
