Random thought I can’t shake: Do animals actually “understand” language, or just learn patterns? Like if a dog grows up hearing Norwegian commands and then moves to another country where people speak a completely different language, what happens then? Do they get confused at first? Do they relearn new words like we do? Or were they never really understanding the words, just tone, repetition, and energy? And what about animals in the wild that migrate across regions, are they “communicating” the same way everywhere, or does it change depending on where they are? Or do different animals.habe different languages? Can a moose communicate with a deer? Ughhh I need a drink.

Yeah so animals have their own language and learn human speech. Like humans they learn new words, but their capacity is limited to how much interaction they have. Same as humans. They've also found that birds from different regions have different songs, indicating regional colloquialisms. So there can be some differences between regions, though sound and tone play a big part as well. ✌️
