The Khala

Can a fragment of the story within a video game have such impact and depth as to create an entire philosophy by itself? In StarCraft, the space faring race known as the protoss, a highly psionic species, have an elevated telepathic link known as The Khala. The Khala is described as a stream of unity where every thought and every emotion of each member of the species becomes one. This gives the species a communal link to seek solace, emotional support and a mutual purpose. Would this be a desirable trait for us humans to have?
