I pity these lost souls. The deluded beings who live so short sightedly, they* can't appreciate the consequences, the results of how they live.... I want not for happiness, for ease, for peace. My soul craves meaning, purpose. Forever, I see eternity, and I live ever anxious, always mindful of my place in history. Send me to war. Make me bleed. I'll crawl through hell itself, if it's for something worthwhile. I'd give anything, and everything, endure it all, to know that my life made a difference. To change the course of the world, to become part of the future, to live a life that echoes for eternity. This is my dream. Happiness is only temporary. Change is permanent. I'm content to never be happy, if I know my life was worth something. Call it what you will, insanity, depressing, self defeating, if you can't understand, I care not what you think. If you care not for the mark you leave on this world, then I only pity you. I pity anyone who ia content to disappear, as if they never existed at all. People say I don't love myself. It's ironic, as I have more respect for myself than most people do. I care enough to want more than happiness, I want permanence, I want eternity, to be heard, felt, to leave a mark that lasts for as long as humanity persists. "happiness" is overrated.
