Yeah, it's done some amazing stuff in medicine and whatnot, but it's also created a cesspool of division and bullying online. It's like we can't have nice things without the dark side. But hey, that's progress for you. We just gotta figure out how to use it for the greater good and kick the bad stuff to the curb

Bullying prior to the digital age existed (and was arguably encouraged against "wrong" people), and the division between the wealthy and poor was just as pronounced (depending on what you are talking about, i mean, there are famous pictures of people protesting long hair on men as communist, as a random other example). The difference is that, in the digital age, we have the tools to see it and the average person has the tools to put it on display.
