What is hope why do we as people cling to it? Why hope is so painful? Is It because we hold on to it no matter the cost sometimes? Why do we need hope? Is it because without hope all we have left is a bottomless pit of despair? Is hope and despair like the two sides of a coin, good and evil? Somewhere where we as humans are always trap in between these two places or concepts. Is hope the only thing that allows us to move on from dark times?

I think it's important to only put hope and belief where there's evidence it's worth hoping for. Like to hope someone will suddenly start liking you even after they've expressed they're not, or to hope you'll win the lottery or gain a dream job out of no where, is the type of hope that can only bring pain. It is a false hope. But to put effort into something and have belief in yourself along with hope it will work out, that's a positive hope. As long as the hope has a backup plan, you're good. But if hope is your entire plan, that's how you end up in despair.
