Philosophy and Physics?

The other day I found myself involved in a heated discussion about the relationship between Philosophy and the sciences, especially Physics. It was argued that in modern terms of Physics there is no place for philosophy that is not an exact science. My opinion differs on this and I would like to know yours.

There are no similarities. Philosophical discussions try to explain the why and how...And Physics is absolute. XD One can end in catastrophic results if you miscalculated your formulations, the other; worse thing that can happen is that you are proven wrong. Lol I should note that science in itself started as philosophical discussion and later became a method of thinking, but science is still philosophical in many ways. Physics is just a study, but still an study of constants and proven "laws." (edited)

Science is literally "Natural Philosophy." If people don't ask questions how will we even know what to look for? The overlaps are definitely there as well. In fact, learning more about Quantam Physics has made me more spiritual and philosophical because it proves that a)we can't know everything, b)the universe is perfect, and c) there are infinite coincidences that have occurred since the big bang that have culminated in us having this conversation... the probability of complete randomness is statistically impossible.
