The Loneliness After Looking for Connection

It's strange how loneliness can feel even heavier after trying to connect with people online. I open an app hoping to find a friend, a meaningful conversation, or simply someone who understands me. Yet sometimes, after scrolling and chatting, I feel more alone than before. Maybe it's because what I'm searching for isn't just interaction, but genuine connection. A hundred conversations can never replace one person who truly listens, understands, and stays. Sometimes the hardest part of loneliness isn't being alone—it's realizing how deeply we want to belong.

we throw our fragile pieces into a sea of glass hoping someone will handle them with care... but we usually just end up wandering like ghosts. It hurts so deeply to want to belong in a place where everyone is just passing through. :' ) but maybe that’s the beautiful part - the fact that at the very edge of our planet we can encounter a life so completely foreign, like a soul from another planet. And by touching their world, we suddenly rediscover the missing pieces of ourselves we thought didn't even exist.

Yeah, feeling like you belong can be something strong, but despite that, you first need to learn to be okay and be enough for yourself.

Relatable..

You point out something true. I would even say: by not finding what you're looking for, it reinforces the inner feeling that it ultimately doesn't exist. Hope turns into despair. And no connection seems to make sense anymore. Which is the opposite of everything we seek with this kind of applications. The solution: meet real people. Preferably sharing the same interest. Why not a book club? Or cooking workshops? Or tea and game salons? Anything to spend time with other people, outside of work.

Sometimes it's not necessary to find someone who understands you, but rather that even without understanding you, they choose to stay and be themselves with you without fear, and that you can be yourself without fear. It's complicated, but I understand you: "I don't need you to understand me, I don't expect you to, I just need you to exist with me" is my phrase of the week.

I know it sounds horrible, but maybe you need to lower your expectations? I mean some people are shallow. They just don't want to be lonely and even a superficial connection will do.
