Well, God exitance reality differ from one brain to the other. I find the reason for people to believe in horoscope is the same reason they decide to believe in God. Also, as agnostic, you don't doubt the God as an idea. You simply admit you cannot prove it or disapprove it. You may lean towards God is there or lean to be an atheist more. It's just being self aware that evidence cannot be found (edited)

I used to believe. I was raised and educated in an abusive religious community and when I became an adult I left the church with the intention to find a new church. But when I got out I realized there's no credible evidence for a god. And as time has gone on (I'm 35, so it's been about 15 years now), the idea makes less and less sense to me. I know if there is a God he would respect me for following my brain and not pretending to believe. But I also feel certain that's not the case.

My reasoning is simple. If God is all powerful, he cannot be all good. And if he is all good, he cannot be all powerful. No being would willingly give a child who isn't even 4 yet cancer. No true god would let kids shoot each other in schools. If god was all powerful he would stop it, but he is not all good. Or as I stated before, he lets this happen. Because he isn't all good.

For me there are more reasons not to commit to a religion than benefits in being religious. For me it’s not about doubting, it’s about is there any reason to believe or even think about it

Literally any claims of gods can be proven to originate in human minds. No evidence of presence, plenty of evidence of absence. I follow the evidence.

The existence of God is unfalsifiable, if you choose to have faith then so be it! But just because you have faith in something doesn’t mean it’s true. Jesus was indeed a person, but anything written by “prophets” in religious writing cannot be proven, the way God has shown himself to the prophets would be unfalsifiable in the same way people claim to feel him in themselves or show himself to them. There could very well be a God out there, but there could just as easily be a different explanation for all of existence. If you believe something on faith with no evidence when we have logical and deductive reasoning, then you have to understand how flawed it is. You can believe the world is flat based on faith and personal experience of going outside, but once you’re given scientific evidence to disprove that, you’d be a fool to continue believing it. There is no actual problem with believing in God based on faith, but now I ask which God and why? And do you follow morally unjust rules to make it into heaven?

Not exactly either, but rather Christian who's in it mostly for the community and good people, not the faith. Lack of proof, and before anyone says "just Google lol" - lack of first hand proof. I've been around long enough to not trust the internet (c'mon, some people believe earth is flat), and I refuse to believe anything I can't see with my own 2 eyes. I believe in being a good person and having a strong moral compass. (edited)

I don't really believe in any god simply because of my own experiences and life. I've never seen any evidence or reason to do so, and after spending years studying ethics and philosophy I've come to that conclusion for myself! That's just me though.

Lets say god exists. How does he exist? Who created god, or was he always there. If you say something created god, you go into a loop asking, who is the creater now. It never ends. Now lets say it existed as it is, now you can't ask why or who created it. If you ask that, you go back into the loop. So what can we ask now? Nothing. You have to accept the answer, " We dont know". Why or how or for what reason some entity should just exist. Our brains are wired to detect causality, something must be the cause of something else. Which is why we reach the consensus of having god or an entity from which we all came to be. The idea of nothingness and extreme uncertainity is very uncomfortable to us. So as humans we have our bias, Unfortunately so, the GOD as in religion is a whole other sad concept. Religion is a way of life, its a human construct not god construct. We have evidence of civilizations that formed a way of life and propagated it furthur. Gods existence, is asking the existence of our own selves. Its both a futile question and a scientific question.

I'm what you could call Agnostic and it isn't that I doubt the existence of any god, but the fact that most religions paint a picture of a loving god and perceive him/her according to what they have been taught through their owns lives. My belief would be that we have the power to make/create our own life and/or future, learning and growing through the experience, the god figure would be within me as I create my path as I walk it. The same way to prove any existence or non-existence would never be proved as everyone will have their own unique point of view and experiences, in the end everyone should belief and follow what makes them truly happy in their hearts, no judgements should be passed for any religion view

No, I dont doubt the existence of a creator. What I do not subscribe to however is the notion that one religion over another is the 'correct' religion. No one truly knows what comes after death; no one. Belief is fine, I have belief, but to claim a certain point of view so vehemently and unbudging is just wrong. Have belief, live your life, be happy & dont push your own belief o to others, thats all. Bearing in mind the majority of religions were used in the old days (And in some places today too) as a way to control people and hold positions of power. A lot of their 'rules' are there to help that grip of populace control. (edited)

Lack of proofs, details, real life experiences, the way everyone describes their own Gods but most of them say God is one, if God is the creator who existed in multiple forms then why did they use the same blue print to create humans(they could have created a human body with a fish head or any mix and matches but, everyone got the same blue print as if they worked togetheror copied from eachother.).. There are miracles ,wonders, etc etc in this world and it's true..but what's the gurantee that God is responsible for all those things and the creations. Did he create only one inhabitable planet for each solar system or how is that? And those people who drew the images of God who are they to God? Is there any gurantee that they drew what they saw or just what they thought. These are like 1% of the questions I have that doubt the existence of God.. So yeah, until I get some real believable answers, I'm gonna be an atheist..

I feel like that's a hard question, on one end, there is evidence that certain biblical events have happened, but the cloud in my mind is cause, there's always and other reason why things happen, maybe God made this event happen, or maybe it was this other scientific natural cause. The fact is there is no way to be certain either way so it's hard to devote yourself to one way of thinking when there are so many options.

First of all: ever person alive on this planet at this time is agnostic. No one is gnostic about god. Nope. Not your pastor or your mother; not even you! Agnosticism is about what you know is true. You cannot know god exists because there is absolutely no good evidence, thus you must, by definition be agnostic. Now, atheism is another story. That's belief. The answer is the same as the reason why no one can only be agnostic: evidence. Evidence is required. The bible isn't really evidence. It's honestly just a book of claims. It contains thing that could ABSOLUTELY NEVER happen like Noah's flood. It also contains things that god cared about one moment and never again like the tower of bable. We've built things since that have completely left the solar system! haha. Unchanging god! bah. Then the bible contains historical inaccuracies, geographic inaccuracies, and scientific inaccuracies. The bible has a man whose life and death we know from other sources dying a few months after he was buried because the writer didn't know who the leader of judea was and got it wrong. Other historical inaccuracies exist. The bible has Jesus walking north to get to a city in the south as well as going to a city past the one to which he has set out to go to a smaller city only to go to the one he passed which was his original goal. This isn't the only geographic inaccuracy found therein as according to the bible the earth is flat and entirely visible from the top of the like 16th higest moutain top. Finally: according to the bible bats are both birds and a form of locust. PI is exactly 3. Many more scientific inaccuracies exist. Finally, the bible contains slavery, sexism, and allows rape. The same thing can be done with the Quran as well (for being so small a book, it actually is worse). I have searched and have found absolutely no evidence a god exists. Instead I have found that humans have knowledge that are wrapped up in religion as a way to shield themselves from the truth of it. A god cannot be omni-much-of-anything as this is the source of the problem of evil. If you have evidence of a god, please let me know.

I think the question is phrased from a theists perspective. As an atheist I see no reason to believe in a god, therefore it's not a part of my worldview to "believe" in one. There's nothing I can do about the existence of God or gods, and I accept the mystery of not knowing. I also separate the conception of God as seen in religious icons, ideas about God, mythologies etc and an actual alien deity that is totally separate from humans. So I guess it depends how we define God and how these ideas can give us insight into who we are. Also there is no real evidence of intelligent design that's not conducive to evolutionary models. This is a big one for me! (edited)
