I think this question begins with anthropocentrism and ends with anthropocentrism. The Earth isnt going anywhere, and a new equilibrium will eventually be established. Btw, Earth has survived billions of years of extreme conditions, like massive asteroid impacts, mass extinctions (at least five well documented ones), volcanic catastrophes, acid raining, ice ages, extreme changes in the atmosphere and oceans, intense cosmic radiation, etc. It has "survived" much worse conditions then this - the better question is whether we will survive?
