A picture i took years ago
I think it was in 2021, when i was taking a photography class for the required credit. We got a nice DSLR camera for relatively cheap to use for family stuff, but only jumped for the purchase because of the class. I've never been much of an outgoing person, but lockdown just exacerbated how isolated i felt. All my classes were online, so I'd find myself staying up until 6 in the morning wishing i could fall asleep, and then sleeping in until 4 pm or so. I took this picture, one spring morning, on one of my "nightly" rituals- i liked standing outside for a few minutes, taking in the serenity of suburbia before everyone leaves for work, the crisp, cold air and staring off into the comfortingly infinity of the open sky. It kept me grounded amid the depression; "you're not alone. You'll make it through this. There's more out there than what's in your head." This picture really brings me peace. Maybe it'll being some for anyone else out there.
