At some the end of the rope has to travel slower for a longer distance so it does not break the speed of light. Lets call the distance X(the speed of light). After that point, the rope has to keep getting slower until it reaches another point Y. After that point, it has to go negative speed. So is Y equal 2x, and do you have to go twice the speed of light to travel backwards in time? If the end of the rope travels backwards in time before you start spinning the rope, then does it go into a state if nothingness, like lag on a computer game, until everything catches up for it to exist?

So, what you are describing seems to need a weight at the end to maintain tension in the rope, otherwise the rope will start deflecting pretty quickly. So, as the speed of light is approached, the material will break from the strain of centrifugal force. Even with a crazy strong material, the mass of the material increases due to relativity, and the material will break because the acceleration from the rotation will overcome it. You would also require rapidly increasing energy to rotate it because of the mass increase, as well. There should be no way around this, i think, because the mass increase approaches infinity as the speed of light is approached. If you are talking about a hypothetical material that has infinite strength, then the mass increase is going to start doing really funny things with spatial geometry.

I dont think we can travel back in time. Time in essence is just a concept what we feel or observe as time is nothing more than changes around us, if you want to reverse time in some sense you just have to recall every atom in that specific time and put them exactly where they are at that moment.
