We get so caught up in life sometimes We forget that it's precious and lose our minds Why do we take it out on each other when we are pain Like making some one else feel it too isn't insane We take so much for granted as we race on through No regard for any one else it's true It seems worse right now than I can recall Society seems to be teetering on the edge of a great big fall I know I cannot be the only one that sees How insane it's gotten recently I have never been afraid of much in this world Until I became a father of my first baby girl It's our children we need to be fighting for We don't want them to inherit any endless wars I don't understand the hatred and greed Why does everyone believe they are entitled to so much more than they need It has to be the newest version of the same damn phone Even though they had that one for a few months it's not as good as the one in the commercials being shown It's 18 dollars for a sandwich at the fair Better be careful they will start charging for air I think we need to do some great big celebrity sung song Like we are the world so we can all get along What would happen if we all just held out our hand To the person next door or in the supposedly forbidden next land Is the world too broken to do a challenge of a simple hand shake #friendship seeds being planted in our wake I don't see it becoming a really big thing Unless a bunch of out of work washed up celebrities get together and sing
