Candid Love
She who cries silently. She shines bright, though behind her eyes, She’s filled with fright. A heart so fragile and tormented- Scarred arms and fatigued eyes, She’s scared to be harmed. Her past is tomenting her, Though she continued to give love her all. She gave and gave and gave- Until every piece of her, Was stripped and left bare. She wished to the core, For love that would be- Gentle, tender, Without needing to surrender her soul. A bursting spark, She shivered with fright. A hand reached out in the night, With a soft voice, without spite. “I’m looking at breath taking art.” Lip quivering, she covers her face. Her hair matted, her wounds still jagged. Echoed cries, reminding her of every painful goodbye. A whisper under her breath, “I’ve been scared, I’ve been on my own. I wish to be known”. She let the words escape, in attempt to be brave. Lights flickering, her body shaking, Her voice stuck, she stuttered out loud- W-who are you.. why have you c-come? A silent pause, a soft response, “You’ve carried strain deep in your veins, wishing for gentle hands to hold your pain” The warmth from his hand, Along her chin, her tension surrendering. He noticed her sorrow and grief, He swore he’d never leave. She for once, finally felt relieved.
