Reconstruction Republicans?
I honestly have an open mind about political discourse. I have stimulating debates with both Republicans and, Democrats. Since I sit pretty center on the scale I usually can see eye to eye with both parties. However, this .... Is a bridge WAY too far... I am sorry I am not ready to go back to Jim Crowe. What the GOP just outlined in their mission statement has me absolutely beside myself. It's bad enough to repeal Obergefell V Hodges but, getting rid of The Voting Rights Act of 1965 and, nullfying the Equal Rights Amendment... Is this a joke? Seriously, this is the legacy you want to leave behind for the future generations. I am just absolutely dumbfounded by the sheer dubiousness of this segment of the party. This absolutely is fostered out of fear. These people are fearful of change, fearful of being a minority and fearful of the unknown. They live each day like their absolute existence is being threatened. Some of it is lack of education but, alot of it stems from the fear taught to them by the clergy. Unfortunately unscrupulous people *cough* Trump *cough* will take advantage of their fear.

Red Team has carte blanche to do what they do (with support from their base) because the way they see things; Blue Team supported rioting/chaos in regards to BLM 2020/CHAZ. Not only was it supported, but small business owners/Right leaning people were pretty much just told to "shut up and deal". It's also why the vast majority of Republicans don't care about Jan6 🤷♂️ When people DID organize to protect their neighborhoods; they were called White Supremacists; despite it being a common theme in Minority Neighborhoods as well as Suburban White Neighborhoods. There's a reason the phrase "Fiery but mostly peaceful" is a common joke on the Right. Seeing that MSNBC Reporter Ali V standing in front of a burning building while saying "It was mostly peaceful" is also still a common meme used today. Anyway I'm not trying to play whataboutism or argue; just pointing out a common belief/standpoint on the Right.
