What are your thoughts on the FEC’s 5% rule and excluding third party candidates from debates?
Federal Election Commission only provides election funding to candidates who get at least 5% of the popular vote which pretty much always puts third party candidates at a campaigning disadvantage. I understand the concept of why waste tax payer money on a party where the chances of winning are slim.. but why not prorate that by % of popular vote? Ross Perot qualified after the 1992 election which he poured $60+M of his own money into the campaign. Then the FEC said we’ll provide you with $30M if you want to run next election however if you take our money you can only use $50K of your own money and have your party try to match the amount provided to the other 2 power parties.. $60M each. Like the system is built for any third party to fail unless they can fund the entire campaign themselves. However let’s say I understand this 5% rule - I don’t understand why third party candidates aren’t allowed on the debate stage. How can they even get 5% of the vote if most Americans are deprived from hearing them out?

Since the 1800s, the US took on a "majority rules" setup for elections, which means whoover gets the most votes wins. If you somehow had 3 political parties that each get about 1/3 of the votes, one will win instead of the power being split 3 ways. Because of that, the system always puts pressure on making it be so you have only 2 real candidates. This quirk of our government has birthed enormous political machines that run each of two parties. Because of that, the most viable chance of winning as a presidential candidates is to run as a Democrat and Republican. That's why Bernie ran as a Democrat and Trump ran as a Republican even though neither one represented that party at the time. The issue isn't the 5% rule for debates. The issue is that if the country is divided we should be able to elect candidates that share power of they only get some of the vote, instead of one rules all (basically I wish we would copy the coalition-style governments in some European countries). Like I should be able to vote for exactly who I want without worrying about what the other side is doing, and let all the representatives that get elected duke it out. Right now every responsible voter in the US has to pick between two candidates in most elections because any time you vote for a third party you're essentially giving a vote to whatever side you hate the most. Proportional representation fixes that. (edited)

Expect more layoffs and pricing to go up in California
Now that California's $20 minimum wage fast food pay is going in effect for workers on April 1st, expect some of them to be laid off and prices like Big Macs to go up. Don't complain of greedy Capitalism or say we didn't warn you all. The people in power that you elected for gave you this.

Imagine if a woman behaved in the way that Donald Trump behaves. No one would vote for her.
