I dream about leaving everything behind and living an off-grid homestead.

For those who don’t know me, I’m David, a 23-year-old guy (he/him), an INFP-A with ADHD. The last time I truly felt alive was when I was 14. Since then, a chronic illness has gradually taken over my life. I developed neurological symptoms that left me with constant brain fog, made studying extremely difficult, reduced my ability to understand and process information, and caused anhedonia. Most of the time, I struggle to feel emotions, with anger often being the only one that still breaks through. Since then, life has felt more like surviving than living. I’ve spent years searching for the underlying cause of my condition, and I’m still looking. That’s one of the reasons why the idea of leaving society and building an off-grid life appeals to me. It’s not about running away from people—it’s about searching for peace and a different way of living. What about you? What’s your reason for wanting an off-grid life? (edited)

Hey for what it's worth, it gets better. I don't have ADHD, but I have experienced the anhedonia and brain fog lasting years even after on paper I had recovered from clinical depression. Eventually, those ended. I don't know what it is that happened during that time. In rejoining society somehow things have changed so much and not in a good way lol I often dream of living off the grid to know less about people/society and just be free of the constant nagging/whining/scrutiny.
