There's an interesting phenomenon going on these days...
where whenever people see a post which reflect values or opinions which they disagree with, they begin to hurl insults and rant about how wrong the other person is... Blocking and reporting whenever something doesnt taste quite right to them. Almost like people are desperate to feel morally superior... Many times, frustration and/or ignorance lies behind these posts. It's content blown out of proportion when it is written in an emotional state... To be met with animosity, anger and to be called foul names has never made anyone change their opinion, if anything it makes people more alienated and deeper set in their frustration. Many times, if you have civil conversations where you dig into where they're coming from, there is a chance to communicate your point of view where it can actually be recieved. Open minds up to different reasons behind a problem or showing a different point of view... I find it incredibly sad how eagerly and quickly people judge others as lost causes or "terrible people". Only with love, education and understanding can we beat anger, frustration and animosity. That's all I wanted to say Rant over

Because facing opinions that goes against your worldview is tough. It's even tougher if that opinion is actually more valid than yours, which triggers an emotional response as if you or your identity is attacked. Rather than engaging it in good faith, a lot of people choice to ghost, block, ban those opinions because it is an easy way out without having to engage intellectually and possibly finding out they were wrong all along.

Thank you!!!! I've been called names as well for trying to be encouraging. When I said that they hurt me, they blocked me. It's funny how things go. They dont want to hear that they're wrong or that at least they misunderstood you. (edited)
