Overcoming the negative

How do you overcome all the negative and abusive behavior from a past relationship? The fears that someone will hurt you like that again? The mental block that was formed by the words of a past lover? It has been a year now and I'm still struggle with finding a way through the mental blocks of the hurtful words and insults that he used on a daily basis.

It is true that the negative and abusive behavior of the closest person hurts us, destroy us. It's not easy, but try to look at this person as a person who is badly injured. Who has nothing but pain. And from this pain, he screams at you, how bad he feels and you feel it. And he needs his pain to be noticed when he shares it. The second part is - to work with therapist to help yourself to go through bad experience and be free from it. You don't need to be a hostage to negative experiences.

My suggestion is to try to heal your wounds as best as you can with self-help material and start psychotherapy. I'm sorry to hear that you were abused like that.
