A lot of my funniest moments in for example history class used to be me being under the influence of over-the-counter fever medication. Back then even the history teacher used to laugh at some of my comments. Maybe you should go to the doctor? Nope, I'll just consume for about a week the easily accessible medication and then if nothing gets better I'm going to go to the doctor. How do you even ATTEMPT to break the pattern that is more than 10 years old without the guidance of a psychotherapist?

Whenever there is a unheathly life trait , the first step is recognizing the pattern, admitting there needs to be a change if you want it to get better, getting to the root of why you do whatever it is maybe a coping skill for something or a trait you had to develop that once helped in a situation but now doesn’t ect., what’s triggers these behaviors and emotions maybe you feel something right before or events happen bringing old memories or something. And find a method that helps you resolve the trait . Replacing it with something healthier, cold turkey or weaning off if it’s something like a substance, finding a support system when your craving or struggling , rehab, there’s different ways find something works for you .
