Positive Psychology

I was listening to a masterclass led by Shawn Achor a positivity psychologist. Anyways I felt like sharing the tips to leading a more happier lifestyle. *Spend 3 days a week doing a cardio activity ie.swimming, running, dance, basketball, soccer, frisbee, biking, step class, YouTube dance video at home etc. So many things you can do. Equivalent to taking an antidepressant. *Attention training/meditation. 2 minutes a day. I use the Calm app!! *Journal down one meaningful experience that happened that day. Take notice of 3 specific details. My favorite activity *At the end of the day reflect on 3 good things that happened or 3 things you grateful for. Write down WHY it was good. Elaborate as much as you can. Sometimes I take pictures of what I'm grateful for as a visual good memory. *Lastly messaging/emailing someone a positive message of a kindness they did in your life. If you can do at least 2 of these tips consistently it will help. Search up Shawn Achor, his tips are backed by countless scientific studies. I listened to the masterclass because I want to be in a balanced emotional state. Not always feeling lonely and all that stuff and these tips have helped me especially the journalling. You gotta realize that your not lonely.. lonely is a longing of something that's missing. Wanting to belong etc. There are so many things you can do to change that state of mind. Google has so many articles!!

They are good things to do, things like that are usually recommended in CBT. However, if you have an underlying issue/need those methods won't help to heal you. They are coping mechanisms and band aids, but don't focus on the root cause.
