I've convinced myself that I am completely undesirable. It helps me to avoid emotional investment in every act of kindness I receive. It aids in avoiding attachments wherein only I am attached. I flirt, but passively. However, I am now oblivious to any genuine flirtation efforts directed toward me. I merely assume any words or gestures which display favor of me are no more than common courtesy. I ignore implications, and am negligent of nuance, for fear of reading too far into something. I am the embodiment of the sentiment "do not flirt with me or I will catch feelings" where too many feelings have been caught. Am I the only one that does this? Is it healthy? (edited)

Is it healthy? No. Do I experience the same thing? Yes. It can be hard to differentiate between common courtesy and flirting sometimes. So I’d ask the person of their intention. But if they get offended because they expected you to see their flirtacious efforts or to not read too far into it, then that’s their problem. For me, the thought of forming healthy attachments scare me. So I understand how you feel.

One way to stop obsession and addiction to something is remove it as a plausable option in the mind, else the mind continues to recycle it over and over, sometimes to our detriment. Its something i discovered in my experience and then i foubd descartes also came across it, but its not fully understood yet, if it were we might be able to do it at will with anything and gain more conscious control over our lives, in such a case it could be healthy and revolutionary for mankind but at this time we only have a skeletal understanding of how it works or a gist of its existance as a phenomena and a tool that we dont know how to use properly can be trouble if we dont use it constructively
