I preffer B, because having the same personality is so bored, but you can have a lot of interesting moments with a person with different personality instead. Also, and the most important, having the same interest means having at least similar goals, dreams and things that we love to do in specific situations, so it's easy going each other and we can motivate each other or compete or just enjoy a simple moment or action because we have similar interests ( also in the long way together is even better for a lot more reassons ).

B. There is this bubbly patient of ours whose personality i absolutely adore. Over the span of six years that i've known her, i can confidently say that she had helped me crack my shell. Because she always has something to say, conversing with her just flows so easily. That helped me become more comfortable speaking with other patients; she also got me comfortable enough to start practicing speaking Tagalog. I don't know if we share many of the same interests, but i'd definitely like to date someone with her personality (or maybe even her 😶)

But in terms of MBTI personality, i dunno. I feel like fellow INFPs are really cool~

B~ differences can be a good thing; while it may be nice in theory to want someone mentally similar (and it would work out for some!) but it could eventually clash which would be disastrous. I feel a **compliment** to your personality is much better and makes a better long term 'team'... thats just me though.

I get that this likely seems like a cop-out, but how about a mix of both?

I don't want someone with the same pesonality as me - then they would be me. I want someone with their own personality.

At the same time, I want someone that shares some of my interests, but also has their own. I have seen too many relationships where an over-reliance on the same interests led to an almost co-dependency issue; in other cases, I have seen the collapse of relationships where they have very few interests in common.

So for me, give me someone with their own personality but similar values on the major issues and some shared interests.

Depends.

Having totally different personalities makes you clash all the time as your values are inherently different. If you don't mind clashing values and principles, then go for it.

Having different interests might heavily reduce the topics and activities you can/will do together. They will basically be stripped down to smalltalk and doing chores. If you don't mind that, go for it.

Turns out having somewhat compatible or perhaps even complementing personalities and interests strongly predicts strong and lasting relationships.
