I'm broken and don't know how to deal with it.

Moving away is my best option, but my traumas are sabotaging me right now and making it a difficult goal to achieve.

I would argue for moving away. Sometimes, the environment that we are in confines our thoughts and behavior. Freeing yourself from societal and environmental constraints can allow us to behave in a different way. However, while there are times that it is a good thing to start over and reinvent yourself, it should be coupled with a determined effort (with therapy or however else you need to do this) that makes the changes stick.

Know that you're not alone and folks like myself are currently going through the same thing but I have hope we will find the right opportunities, resources, and good people in our lives to help us learn to release these painful thoughts and habits and replace them with happiness ans fulfillment! Its going to be okay, our journey is just different than others and thats not our fault! We can do this ❤️‍🩹💖💯

And sometimes moving away IS the only option. A person can't start their healing journey living in the place where they broke. Sending positive energy your way 🙌❤️

Yeah, burnout can be like that. Everything is so enmeshed and complicated that it's impossible to know where to start with untangling the inaccurate emotions, and state machine like cognitions. Moving to a different location can be a useful tool for starting the process of untangling, but it's not the cure, and will only delay the inevitable.

Moving away is never the best option. Becoming conscious of how bad those things were, and not letting them make your life miserable, that's a good goal. Imagine a tyrant, I won't talk about actual tyrants, like Hitler, Stalin, Mao. Let's talk about Darth Vader (I really don't know what's happening to me and the Star Wars, a weird interest in the making). He had a lot of traumas, basically an orphan, too much pressure on his shoulders from being the chosen one, jedi council not accepting him and his beliefs. And so he gave into the idea that it's him against the world, not simply millions of people trying to deal with their own traumas. Also, the word trauma is overused. Maybe the way to resolve them, considering it's even possible, and people don't simply live and suffer from them their whole lives, is to gain a different perspective, not of the trauma itself, even though it would be useful, but on yourself, and how you dealt and have been dealing with it. People are talking about so many obstacles in their lives, and hey, some of them are true, some of them are nothing more than figments of our imagination. You know, Jung once said, "Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate". So do we really want to blindly wish for "trauma" to go away, or should we take arms against the sea of troubles, and by opposing end them? Those are simple words, not actions. It's the same with trauma. Trauma is a word. People have different definitions of it. It doesn't mean you shouldn't care about it, or redifine it. There are many dictionaries and you might not choose any of them. What you can do, is take it, in your hand, squeeze the unnecessary subjective aspects out of it, and shove it up the butt of people who came up with this term in the first place, and tell yourself to become responsible for who you are, rather than taking care of your past self. Your past self is important to who you are today, but it doesn't define you, and the most important thing is that it was. Nothing more to it. Well, there is, but it's the matter of priorities, in order to grow, you should sacrifice yourself for the sake of your own future. (edited)

No, people do value and appreciate these things. The only problem is that you expect people to appreciate YOU for those things. You base your identity too much on traits that are considered good and feel entitled to get a reward. Now, i see many women complain about the “nice guys”. How they... read more

It's not like I want to be racist towards men. I think my experiences on here and outside have in a sense traumatized me.

I genuinely didn't even consider my hate for men from certain regions to be related to psychological trauma, but, in retrospect, my reactions and hyper sensitivity could explain my racism. Body shape is another issue which directly correlates with my own obsession with staying normal weight/being... read more

Feeling extremely bad and lonely for some reason. Only thing I have ever learnt in this life is no matter how much you crave, nobody has an obligation to provide that warmth to you. It's not a bad realisation, it just feels that way to be on the receiving end of it. (edited)

Re-evaluation

Time to take another look at what I've been doing. It seems that everything I have done was for nothing. I still keep repeating the same patterns and people get hurt. I have to stop deluding myself and finally do something about this. It's already cost too much

Little "triad" test

Would you pass the test too ? (Link in the comments, not sure if it will be available) Honestly, I don't have a solid faith in charity. Instead of giving money, I'd rather share a meal, or give a helping hand directly.🤷‍♂️ (Which already happened when I could, years ago... )

Something New

It's time to try a new series of seals within my mind. I think I see where I went wrong last time so it's time for my heart to get a brand new seal. There is no fear in this decision which gives me hope, I think I understand what my next steps need to be.

What are the practical tools and techniques people use to manage the symptoms of PTSD day-to-day?

Are there specific apps, exercises, routines, or ways of thinking that help people feel better and stay functional despite the trauma? I don't need personal stories, just looking for practical implementation ideas. . Thanks

Anger transference

We all make the mistake of letting someone else's "bad mood" rub off and impact our day, at times.
