This is true and I have experienced both sides of it. One where they tell me how they feel and I politely let them know I don't feel the same way, yet they keep going hoping that I would. Then again, I told someone how I felt and they didn't feel the same way. In both instances, they seeked me. Now, I am scared to let anyone know how I feel and get weary when someone tells me how they feel and I don't feel the same way. Like with everything else in my life, I am working on it. I only know what feels right to me. Rushing to love, without meeting and getting to truly knowing the other person has become a red flag for me. The first instance, he hasn't met me at all and is claiming love. I can't change how he feels about me, and I'm basically telling him he can't change how I feel about him. In this moment in time, I don't feel the same way and I might never feel the same way. The other scenario, we had known each other for 8 years, but hardly spent any time together. I know, being the age that I am, I should have more experience, but I am just as new with this, even though my wisdom might say otherwise. I will say I can understand why knowing me might wear someone out to give up. But, at the same time, I don't tell my whole story in a fortnight. If that is what you want, I'm not the one for you.
