Self-Aware 2s?

Okay, so I only recently discovered that I'm a type 2 in the Enneagram after years of not thinking it would be possible. The way I discovered it was through triads and a few hours of talking between my ESFP 8w7 friend who I've known for years. He helped me realize I am heavy in the Rejection Triad, and we both knew I wasnt an 8, because he, my sister, and my father are 8s. That narrowed it to either 5 or 2. This is just some background for my reasoning for this post. Because of this discovery, I've started seeing previous actions of mine in a new light, specifically the reason why I didn't consider myself a 2, because I repressed even my 2 desires. I was self conscious of my desire to steer other's lives and my mind constantly constructed fantasies of me helping many people, but I also was aware when they went too far and bordered on a desire to manipulate people. This awareness of the wrongness of my desires kept me from manipulating people, trying to attain attention and love in other ways. Something to add is that I have a Grandma who isnt the healthiest 2 either. She is very controlling and micromanaging with those around her, believing she gets to have special say in people's lives just because she has helped them a little. I never wanted to be like that, which made me act even less like my own type. I suppose the gist of this post is to see whether there are other 2s that have experienced this, because I am undeniably a type 2, but I just severely suppressed my own wants in favor of recognizing the autonomy of others.
