😞 Talk to someone, anyone, even a crisis line if you're in a scary place, ok? Don't try to go it alone if you're thinking the worst. Everyone needs help at some point. People who do crisis lines do it because they really do care and want to support people. 💜

For real. We don't have to fight that darkness alone. In fact, that's how the darkness gets us, by trying to convince us we are alone. WE ARE NOT!

@Aaron you mean at a crisis line? Yeah, there's never going to be 100% of anything. There's an exception to every rule. And I'm sorry that's been your experience. It's a huge let down. It really is. I do feel that if someone is in crisis and potentially contemplating a choice you don't come back from I would rather encourage them to believe there is help and someone who cares. And take the chance they get one of the good ones. Especially if it's their only option. Just saying you're probably going to get an @hole so don't bother feels wrong to me even if it is a possibility. Saying every answer of a crisis line is a caring individual is a stretch. But if it gives someone one more option to try, one more hour or day to find help or reach out it's worth offering that hope. It's incredibly difficult knowing the system let's people down. Myself and people I love dearly have experienced it. Sometimes far too often. But it's better to not give up than lose faith completely.

Honestly... 0 ..... I am so depressed I don't know how to function anymore. I cant sleep and when I do I cant wake up. And when I do wake up I cant get out of bed. It hurts everywhere all the time. I feel like so many people don't care or don't realize when they obviously should since its quite obvious. Sometimes I eat nothing at all and other times I cant stop eating. Its a constant battle to put food in my mouth then to stop. Its hard when I do office work, and its hard when I don't. I feel useless and worthless when I don't but when I do it feels like there is no point or I am not good enough to do it I am not worthy enough or I am so stupid I am going to fail anyway . Its a similar pattern too, I cant do office work but when I do then I cant stop because if I do then I am stupid or a quitter or weak. I also have a dog and he is the only thing that makes me feel better. He locks my depression in a cage. He makes my anxiety relax and join in the laughter. But in the end .....i am so angry and depressed 😖😖😖😖😖😖😣😣😣😣

Vini, you are a person who experiencing this depression, you are not the depression. It's like being in the ocean, sometimes the waves are harsh add they get harsher for me when I fight them. People don't notice us when we feel this way because some don't like to look in a mirror and see a bad hair day. When we are at our worst it scares people into thinking about how they feel. Don't take this personally, this is their problem. Not yours. First, I'd like it if you could reach out to a crisis line, that is what they are there for and while it can be hard, they might be able to put you in touch with resources that can help you get out of crisis. If you live in an area like me (super remote) this can be hard to find. If that is the case talk to us. All of us on this thread are here RIGHT NOW

You're definitely suffering from depression and I believe you have come to a point you will need help to recover. A doctor, a counselor, a trusted spiritual leader....please reach out. Even in an isolated area we know have this groovy thing - internet. Hopefully you have access to it...Online is NEVER the same as face to face. But it's a start. And sometimes the anonymity can empower us to speak what we never would in person. It takes an incredibly strong person to humbly admit they need help. It really does. I feel men especially can be taught to be tough and manly means never having a moment of feeling weak or sad or hurt or defeat. We all have feelings, we all suffer at times and it's because it is the human condition and the way we are made. It has nothing whatsoever to do with strength or weakness. I'm so proud of you for opening up here and expressing yourself. It really hurts when we feel unseen and unheard by the people who care about us. There can be so many reasons for it. But it always feels like it's because they don't care. They probably do. But they too have weaknesses and fears and human imperfections. It's time to reach out to professionals. I know you can do it. I know you can. If you're strong enough to survive such a torturous way of trying to live you are absolutely strong enough to find your way out. Sometimes we just need to find the right key and professionals can often help with that. I lived for so long in the darkness. I understand how overwhelming it feels right now. But that's why I know you can find your way back. Please believe it can and will get better. I wouldn't pretend tomorrow everything will be rainbows and butterflies. But one step in the direction of the light is one less to take tomorrow.

Depression is a beast, people who have never had real depression say things like, think positive and look at all the good going on in your life...they don't realize that even those thoughts turn dark and the weight of the world is on your neck

It was really high. But in September I developed a health issue that has really taken a toll. So I'm about 6. But I have soooo many tools to work on improving it and getting into a positive state again. 😊 One day at a time, I got this. Some days it's one minute at a time. 5 minutes. An hour. Just focus on what you can manage. Quiet your mind from thinking about what if what if what if. All that we can control is this minute. When things have been at their worst I was asked...can you make it through the next minute? JUST one minute... I have got through some terrifying dark moments this way. Just breathe. We'll be alright. 😉

💗 this. Often I have to do 1 minute at a time. At the moment my number is about a 4, haven't been this low in a while which is scary but it is all about self care and focusing on 1 min at a time

Strange spot for me today. I am feeling super alone and isolated. I just moved to a really small town, I'm single and all my friends are not, and it's basically like 20 before freezing so the situational depression is there, the biological depression isn't too rough today. I have a decent ritual for that. I'd say with the isolation in swinging between a 4 to a 7 back to 4?

A four is pretty rough. I'm sorry it gets to that. If you're experiencing seasonal depression you might consider trying a SAD lamp. It simulates sunshine/vitamin D which we don't get enough of in winter and in part causes seasonal affective disorder (SAD). If nothing else it might be worth looking into. I'm glad even tho you are feeling isolated you are interacting here. Sometimes we feel so miserable we isolate ourselves purposely. I know I have before. Being here is just one of my tools to fight that darkness. Interacting with others. Sharing humor and support and whatever comes up. I'm grateful for anything that helps even a little. 😊
